Car modifications to save gas:
High gas prices have also fueled modifications designed to improve gas mileage. You do not need to dump an additive into your fueltank. Instead you might want to consider grabbing a welding gun and streamlining your vehicle the way the manufacturer didn't and improve its aerodynamic. Some ideas to eco mod your car:
1. Block your front grill so that it directs air around your car and notr than under. Air under the car creates friction and drag against all the exposed machinery and tubing.
2. A rear truck bed cap that is sloped from the cab right to the tailgate creates a smooth lines that direct air past the car, reducing friction and drag.
3. Cars that taper cut drag and friction , which is exactly why the truck bed cap modification works. The more a car comes to a point at its tail, the less drag. Think of an airplane.
4. Add wheel-well covers. When air moves down the sides of your car or truck, it gets stuck up in the wheels. This can be prevented with wheel-well covers or skirts.
5. Installing an undertray that covers the bottom of a car or truck protects and smoothes air flow and reduces friction.
